What If You Chose a Church That Couldn’t Serve You?
For most Christians, we pick a church to attend based on several factors: the quality of the pastor’s messages, the friendliness of the members, the presence of youth programs, or the thrill of fun get-togethers. Yet, what if we chose the church we attend based on a different set of factors? What if instead of…

From Searching to Surrender
Sometimes a simple email can be the beginning of something much bigger. In May 2024, Pastor Ben Garcia received an email from Mary Morrison-Collins with a straightforward question: What did she need to do to become a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church? Pastor Ben tried to reach Mary by phone but got no answer.…

Six Minutes on the Side of the Road
On a recent weekend, Amy Benedict and her daughter Kaylee were traveling north to attend a health ministry retreat at Camp Au Sable. The trip from their home in Zeeland normally takes about three hours. They were about an hour and a half into the drive, traveling between Big Rapids and Reed City, when something…

The Church Family I Prayed For
In January 2018, Farmington church sent out Bible Study Offer direct-mailing cards to the community. I received one and told the leader of my Bible Study group (not SDA, just a monthly women’s Bible Study group). I asked her if she wanted me to order the free study guides for her, and she suggested that…

I Knew I was Forgiven
I grew up in a dysfunctional home, my father was an alcoholic and my mother was a Christian but because of my father’s lifestyle, he was in and out of prison. Five out of six sons followed in his footsteps, and I ended up spending nine years in and out of prison in the state of Texas…

The Most Important Thing
Grief and loneliness were settling in. I had been a widower for sixty days. A snow storm was blowing outside which did not concern me as I had lived in Michigan all my life. I had an art class but upon arrival I learned the class had been canceled. I felt impressed to visit a gal who volunteers there. During our…

Follow the Mission God Has for You
I was born and raised in a ghetto area in Chicago, known as Humboldt Park. Both of my parents were born in Puerto Rico. My biological mother mentally and physically abused me. At the age of 14, I was adopted by an American family who worked for Christian Record Braille foundation (Roy and Mary Berg).…

The Wilderness Wasn’t Punishment
Growing up, I always knew about God — the Bible stories, the prayers, the songs — but I didn’t know Him personally. I leaned on the faith of my family, especially my grandma’s, believing it would be enough. I had everything I needed: love, support, comfort. So, I didn’t feel the urgency to seek…

What Just Happened to Me?
I was working, probably in my 40s or 50s, and I started reading the Bible. I read it for like three years straight—I slept, I worked, and I read the Bible! I just couldn’t get enough of it. At the end of all that, I realized what I had read—I was brought up Catholic.…

These People Just Keep Coming
“These People Just Keep Coming!” Vivian began searching for truth and contacted BibleStudyOffer.com. She lived in the same town as I do and we were given her name to start doing Bible studies with her. She seemed to be interested in doing them with us, but at a much later date she told me that…

Letting Go of Worldly Things
I come from a long line of those suffering from depression. I was hopeless and found myself between suicide, pills, homeless, junk food fighting cancer, and having to deal with growing up in a broken home. I knew of God. I wanted God, but it was always in the context of a worldly relationship. One day, I saw…

100% Conversion
I started reading a booklet that came in the mail called On The Edge of Time, a condensed Great Controversy. There was a card inside to order the Amazing Facts Bible study program for free. On it was a line for a prayer request. I wrote “100% Conversion.” After a life full of so many struggles…

Divine Appointment
The Lord put the idea of the Sabbath on my heart years ago, while I still lived with my parents. I read Genesis and Exodus, and concluded that the Sabbath was on Saturday, and was a commandment missing from the teachings of my parents’ church. I now live in an Assisted Living home, and…

I Went Searching on My Own
My story began when my dad died in 1999. When he passed, I wanted nothing to do with organized religion and instead ran to paganism. I bought books, read up on various topics and delved into metaphysics (i.e. tarot cards, divination, etc.). Over the next 20 years I would learn more and more of the different…
