Risk Management

The Risk Management Department of the Michigan Conference exists to safeguard the ministries, employees, members, and assets of the church by promoting a culture of safety, responsibility, and preparedness. The department provides guidance on insurance, liability, and compliance matters; supports churches and schools in identifying and reducing potential risks; and offers training and resources to ensure safe environments for worship, education, and outreach. Through proactive planning, incident response, and ongoing education, the department helps protect the mission of the conference and ensures that ministry can thrive with confidence and care.

Child Protection Policy

Michigan Conference Child Protection Policy must be used in the local church and school for anyone interacting with children. This must be used in connection with the Volunteer Data Sheet for Local Church. Contact the Pathfinder Department for a separate Volunteer Application for their activities.


Volunteer Data Sheet for Local Church

This Volunteer Data Sheet is to be used in connection with the Child Protection Policy with anyone interacting with children. Two forms are to be used with volunteers–Child Protection Policy and the Volunteer Data Sheet. Contact the Pathfinder Department for a separate Volunteer Application for their activities
