From March 6–8, 120 individuals gathered for a focused and practical training centered on one urgent mission to equip God’s people to bring healing to body and soul.

Built around the theme “Equipping Medical Missionaries to Minister to Body and Soul with Heaven’s Healing Truth,” the retreat reflected a growing reality that doors are opening for health ministry everywhere, and the need for equipped laborers is greater than ever.

Attendees came from across the conference and beyond, including participants from Ohio and the Lake Region Conference, united with a desire to engage in frontline ministry within their own communities. Throughout the weekend, the emphasis remained clear; health ministry is not a separate work, but a powerful entry point for gospel ministry as it allows us to meet needs, relieve suffering, and lead people to Christ.

Chad and Fadia Kreuzer, from Forest Hill wellness Center in Ohio, presented a compelling series that framed health ministry as an expression of Christ’s compassion and the gospel itself. Their sessions combined evidence-based insights with practical application, covering natural remedies, herbal and topical treatments, and hydrotherapy.

Sabbath afternoon featured Pastor Kameron DeVasher’s message, “GROW Your Health Ministry with One Accord,” highlighting how intentional integration of health outreach and Bible study interests can be sustained through tools like One Accord, helping members consistently nurture and follow through with those seeking truth.”

Each worship service was prayerfully prepared and began with song services led by Pastor Tom and Pastor Amie Hubbard, creating a reverent and Christ-centered atmosphere throughout the weekend.

The plant-based dining experience added another layer of ministry. Chef Miguel Larcher designed each menu, and the Camp Au Sable dining staff prepared meals that were both visually appealing and flavorful. Attendees were given recipes for every dish, equipping them to carry this aspect of health ministry into cooking schools, supper clubs, and local church events.”

Reflecting on the purpose of the weekend, Dr. Michael and Melanie Quion, Michigan Conference’s Health Ministries co-directors and event organizers, shared:

“The 2026 Health Ministries Retreat was designed to inspire through an immersive experience, combining natural, spiritual, and evidence-based principles of health ministry. We focused on practical tools and methods, like One Accord, to guide outreach from physical healing to spiritual renewal through Bible study interests. From herbal remedies and hydrotherapy demonstrations to plant-based dining that can be replicated in local churches, our goal was simple, to equip God’s people to minister more effectively in their communities.”

The result was a weekend marked by inspiration, clarity, and practical equipping, with many leaving ready to step into medical missionary work right where they are.
