The Michigan Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is pleased to announce the Executive Committee appointment of Gabrielle Umaña-Santacruz as associate director for the Public Campus Ministries Department and Director for the CAMPUS Missionary Training Program.
Gabrielle brings firsthand experience in public campus ministry, student leadership, missionary training, and discipleship to this new role.
As a student, Gabrielle became involved with public campus ministry while attending the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor. She served in several leadership roles with Adventist student organizations on campus, including as president of Adventist Christian Fellowship, the official Adventist student organization on campus and as a student missionary in the CAMPUS Missionary Training Program (MTP) at Michigan State University.
Gabrielle has served as a Public Campus Ministries Fellow, helping support the launch of the Scholars Program at Michigan State University and the University of Michigan. The Scholars Program gives university students the opportunity to take religion courses through CAMPUS each semester, exploring a focused area of study from a biblical perspective. She has worked alongside students at different stages of their spiritual journeys, helping create opportunities for discipleship, evangelism, and Christian community.
In her new role, Gabrielle will serve as the new Missionary Training Program Director where she will help equip young people to deepen their relationship with Christ, share their faith, and serve as missionaries on university campuses across Michigan and beyond.
