Looking for ways to contribute to the mission of Camp? Here’s how!
Spring and Fall Work Weeks
Skilled tradesmen and handymen (and women) unite twice a year to help maintain and improve Camp Sagola. Use your talents to upgrade electrical, roof or paint cabins, landscape, prepare equipment for seasonal usage, manage the forest, etc. Donate your time for the whole week or just a day or two. Meals and accommodations provided free while you serve.
Cook and Kitchen Staff
Do people love your kind personality and your delicious, low-sugar, vegetarian meals? Volunteer to cook for a weekend event, work week, Outdoor Ed, or Family Camp! The summer camp cook and kitchen staff are paid positions; apply as for other summer camp positions. The summer camp Food Service Director (i.e. head cook) is required to hold current ServSafe Manager certification.
Summer Camp Staff
Positions in this key 3-week ministry of Camp Sagola include camp pastor, counselors (which double as class and activity instructors), health care officers (nurses or EMTs licensed in Michigan), lifeguards, photographer, and kitchen staff. There is also a summer maintenance staff position (7 to 9 weeks). Classes and activities at summer camp include swimming, wakeboarding and knee-boarding, canoeing and kayaking, lawn game sports, bouldering, archery, ceramics, art, camping and survival skills, nature science, and more. To obtain more information on positions at Camp Sagola, request a staff guidebook by email. Since Camp Au Sable assists us in processing applications and in counselor training, as many staff work at both camps, our paid summer camp staff application is through their website (see link below for paid summer camp staff).
