Michigan Conference Executive Committee Elects Andrew Park as Director of Public Campus Ministry.
The Michigan Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is pleased to announce the appointment of Pastor Andrew Park as its new Director of Public Campus Ministry. Park brings a wealth of experience in student evangelism, cross-cultural mission service, and church leadership to this key role.
Andrew Park is a Michigan native where his family served as members of the Detroit Korean Seventh-day Adventist church. He is deeply rooted in public campus ministry, having served in multiple capacities within the CAMPUS (Center for Adventist Ministry To Public University Students) ministry network. He is a former president of Adventist Christian Fellowship, CAMPUS Michigan State University Scholar, General Conference public campus missionary in Hong Kong, and CAMPUS Fellow, roles in which he shared the gospel with students and young adults while developing strong mentoring and discipleship skills.
While completing his education at Michigan State University with a degree in packaging engineering, Park felt a clear calling toward full-time ministry. God opened opportunities for him to serve internationally in Hong Kong during a global public campus ministry missionary emphasis. Soon after his return, he was appointed as president of (GYC)—a movement of Adventist young adults promoting spiritual and professional/academic excellence. Park led the organization through challenges posed by the pandemic, reaching nearly 7,000 attendees at the last annual convention in Orlando, Fl.
Since 2021, Park has served as pastor of the Vassar and Bay City churches, while also providing chaplaincy support to students at Saginaw Valley State University, where he and his wife Nichole have been leading Bible studies in their home with the surrounding community and students.
Conference President, Jim Micheff, shared his appreciation for Park’s unique combination of pastoral experience, campus ministry background, and passion for young adult discipleship. “He will further strengthen the Conference’s outreach to college and university students across the state.”
