Cody Francis to Serve As New Ministerial Director

On Tuesday May 25, the Michigan Conference Executive Committee voted to extend an invitation to Pastor Cody Francis to become the next Ministerial Director of the Michigan Conference. The position became vacant after Elder Royce Snyman announced his retirement beginning in July. Elder Francis has since accepted the new ministry calling and will begin serving in his new capacity from the month of June. 

Francis previously served as District Superintendent and pastored the Carp Lake, Cheboygan, and Petoskey churches from 2017. Prior to Michigan, he served as the Academic Dean of Hartland College in Rapidan, Virginia (2013-2017) where he also taught religion classes and mentored future pastors and leaders. He also had the privilege of leading a vibrant church plant in the Seattle-metro area with a multi-faceted ministry that incorporated health classes, cooking schools, literature distribution, personal Bible studies and multiple evangelistic meetings and witnessed a growth from several families to 70-80 total members.

“We are humbled to be called to serve our Michigan family in this new capacity,” said Francis after accepting his new role. “While there is so much for us to learn, we are trusting the Lord to grant us His wisdom and grace. We are so thankful for the tremendous team of pastors and workers that the Lord has brought to Michigan, and it is our prayer that we can be a blessing and support to our fellow workers throughout the field. We look forward to how the Lord is going to grow His work in this territory!”

Elder Francis is a graduate of the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs, where he received his Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry (MAPM). In his free time, his family has a passion for the outdoors and their hobbies include camping, hiking, and biking.
