The event was held at the Midland High School Gym, a convenient and accessible location for the clinic, as well as a neutral location for people who may shy away from attending a church.
Patients received a range of free services, including dental cleanings, diagnostic x-rays, fillings, and extractions. Vision care included retina scans, eye pressure tests, and free prescription glasses. Medical screenings, consultations with doctors, counseling with licensed psychologists and pastors, and even free haircuts were also available. Additionally, attendees had access to free Christian literature and books, as well as an invitation to a depression recovery seminar.
The value of the services given was just over $71,000. In total, volunteers assisted 134 patients.
The clinic met a significant need within the community, with 40% of attendees lacking health insurance, 46% without a primary care physician, and 70% without a dentist. The clinic also sparked interest in ongoing health and spiritual programs, with 32% of patients expressing interest in an 8 Laws of Health seminar and an additional 21% showing interest in a depression recovery program.
Attendees heard about the clinic primarily through social media (42%) and word of mouth (30%), highlighting the importance of community outreach. The success of this event underscores the value of accessible healthcare and the impact of volunteers dedicated to serving their community with compassion and care.
