The students eagerly rolled up their sleeves to assist the caretakers in getting the camp ready for the upcoming event.
The work was demanding, but the 18 students, ranging from kindergarten to 10th grade, including several homeschoolers, were up to the challenge. They cleaned windows, cleared cobwebs, scrubbed bathrooms, set up a gate, and even tackled the beachfront, reclaiming the sand from encroaching weeds. Working together, sometimes in creative ways like stacking two-high to reach tricky spots, the students demonstrated a strong work ethic and a positive attitude throughout the day.
This marks the second year that Wilson Junior Academy has supported the camp with such a service project. Each time, the caretakers have been impressed with the students’ efficiency, cheerful spirits, and dedication. The team accomplished far more than expected, bringing about a visible transformation to the camp's grounds. They worked with a sense of purpose, aiming to glorify God through their efforts.
Despite the hard work, the students found time to enjoy the beauty of their surroundings. After their tasks were complete, they took a well-deserved break on the lake, enjoying kayaking, paddle boating, and canoeing. The day’s perfect weather and the fun-filled fellowship made the experience even more memorable, leaving everyone with a sense of pride in what they had achieved.
A special thanks goes to the Michigan Conference for organizing the Bible Labs program. This project was a rewarding experience for our students, allowing them to serve with purpose and joy. We look forward to continuing this tradition of service in the future!
